SocialPulse Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your data.

1. Introduction

At SocialPulse, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our social media analytics platform.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

We collect the following personal information:

  • Name and email address (for account creation)
  • Profile picture and avatar (optional)
  • Billing information (processed securely through Razorpay)
  • Account preferences and settings

2.2 Social Media Data

When you connect your social media accounts, we access:

  • Public profile information (username, display name, bio, profile picture)
  • Post content and metadata (captions, hashtags, media type, publish date)
  • Engagement metrics (likes, comments, shares, saves)
  • Follower / following counts and growth data
  • Impressions, reach, and profile view statistics
  • Content performance and insights data provided by the platform

2.3 Meta (Instagram & Facebook) API Data

When you connect an Instagram Business or Creator account, or a Facebook Page, we access data via the Instagram Graph API and Facebook Graph API under the following permissions:

  • instagram_basic — profile info and media list
  • instagram_manage_insights — post and account-level engagement metrics
  • pages_show_list / pages_read_engagement — Facebook Page engagement and insights
  • read_insights — Page audience and performance data

All data obtained via Meta APIs is governed by the Meta Platform Terms and is used solely to provide, personalise, and improve SocialPulse analytics features for you. We do not sell, share, or use Meta Platform Data for advertising targeting or profiling.

2.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information about your use of our service:

  • IP address and location data
  • Browser type and version
  • Device information
  • Pages visited and features used
  • Time spent on the platform
  • AI usage statistics

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 Service Provision

  • To provide and maintain our social media analytics service
  • To process and analyze your social media data
  • To generate reports and insights
  • To provide AI-powered recommendations

3.2 Account Management

  • To create and manage your account
  • To process payments and subscriptions
  • To send important service notifications
  • To provide customer support

3.3 Service Improvement

  • To analyze usage patterns and improve our service
  • To develop new features and functionality
  • To conduct research and analytics
  • To ensure platform security and prevent fraud

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our service:

  • Razorpay for payment processing
  • OpenAI for AI-powered insights generation (data is processed under OpenAI's API data usage policy and is not used to train their models)
  • Cloud storage / hosting providers for data storage and backup
  • Email service providers for transactional and support communication

4.2 Social Media Platforms

We integrate with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook via Meta Platforms; Twitter/X; LinkedIn) to access your data. Your data remains subject to each platform's own privacy policy:

4.3 Meta Platform Data Restrictions

Data received from Meta APIs (Instagram, Facebook) is subject to strict restrictions under Meta Platform Terms. Specifically:

  • Meta Platform Data is never sold to third parties
  • Meta Platform Data is not used to create, supplement, or augment advertising or targeting profiles for any purpose
  • Meta Platform Data is not transferred to data brokers, ad networks, or any entity for advertising purposes
  • Meta Platform Data is used only to provide and improve the SocialPulse analytics service for the connected user
  • Sensitive data categories obtained via Meta APIs are processed only as strictly necessary and are not stored beyond the minimum required period

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights and safety.

4.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the new entity.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for data transmission
  • Secure data storage with encryption at rest
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Access controls and authentication
  • Regular backups and disaster recovery

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide our service and comply with legal obligations:

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active
  • Analytics data: Retained according to your subscription plan (maximum 12 months of historical data)
  • Meta Platform Data (Instagram / Facebook): Retained only for as long as needed to display analytics — raw API responses are not stored beyond 90 days
  • Payment data: Retained as required for tax and accounting purposes
  • Deleted data: Permanently removed within 30 days of account deletion or data deletion request

6a. Meta Data Deletion

In compliance with Meta Platform Terms, you may request deletion of all data SocialPulse has received from Meta (Instagram & Facebook) APIs. To submit a deletion request:

  • Go to Dashboard → Settings → Account → Delete Account to remove all data including Meta Platform Data, or
  • Email privacy@socialpulse.co.in with the subject "Meta Data Deletion Request" and your registered email address
  • You can also revoke SocialPulse's access directly from your Meta account: Facebook → Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites → Remove SocialPulse

All Meta Platform Data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. You will receive an email confirmation. This deletion is irreversible and will remove all associated analytics history.

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Access and Control

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and data
  • Export your data
  • Opt out of marketing communications

7.2 Social Media Data

You can disconnect social media accounts at any time through your dashboard. Disconnecting will stop data collection but may affect service functionality.

7.3 Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication and analytics. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in different countries. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

9. Children's Privacy

SocialPulse is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information immediately.

10. AI and Machine Learning

Our AI features analyze your social media data to provide insights and recommendations. AI processing is performed securely. Specifically:

  • Your data is not used to train third-party AI models (including OpenAI models) — we use the API in a stateless manner with no training data opt-in
  • Social media data accessed via Meta, Twitter, or LinkedIn APIs is not passed to AI providers in a form that identifies the originating platform user
  • AI-generated insights are based entirely on your own account data and are produced solely for your benefit

11. Third-Party Links

Our service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. Please review their privacy policies before providing any information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of our service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of March 10, 2026. By using SocialPulse and connecting social media accounts, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy, including the Meta Platform Data restrictions in §4.3 and the data deletion rights in §6a.
